How Play Therapy Support Can Help

Children don’t always have the words to explain what they are feeling or experiencing. For many, play is their most natural way of making sense of the world around them. Through play, children can explore emotions, express worries, and process experiences in a way that feels safe and familiar.
Within a calm, trusting, and child-led space, children are supported to explore at their own pace. There is no pressure to talk or perform instead, the focus is on building connection, emotional safety, and understanding. Over time, this gentle approach can help children develop confidence, emotional awareness, and a stronger sense of self.
Play therapy may be helpful for children who are experiencing:
  • Anxiety, worries, fears, or phobias
  • Sleep difficulties or challenges with separation
  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • Bereavement, loss, or changes within the family
  • Experiences of trauma, adversity, or neglect
  • Big emotions, overwhelm, or frequent emotional outbursts
