Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you work with?
What does “play-based” actually mean?
Play-based means learning happens through games, hands-on activities, creativity, and movement rather than worksheets or formal testing. Play allows me to understand how your child learns, identify gaps naturally, and gently weave learning into activities that feel meaningful and enjoyable.
My child struggles with confidence or anxiety — is this suitable for them?
Yes. Many of the children I support benefit from a calmer, more individual approach. Sessions are designed to feel safe, pressure-free, and supportive, helping children build confidence and a more positive relationship with learning over time.
Does my child need to enjoy math's to attend the workshops?
Not at all. The workshops are especially helpful for children who feel unsure, anxious, or disengaged from math's. Concepts are explored through play and practical activities, helping math's feel more accessible and less intimidating.
How are sessions structured?
Sessions are child-led and flexible. I observe learning through play, respond to your child’s needs in the moment, and adapt activities accordingly. The focus is on connection, confidence, and steady progress rather than rushing or performance.
Do you follow the national curriculum?
Curriculum skills are thoughtfully woven into play where appropriate, but always in a way that suits the child. The aim is to support understanding and confidence rather than replicate a school environment.
Why are sessions paid for in blocks?
Paying in blocks helps provide consistency and routine for children, which supports emotional safety and progress. It also allows sessions to build naturally over time without pressure.
Can I stay during sessions?
This depends on the child and the type of session. We can discuss what feels most supportive during the free discovery call.
How big are the groups?
Group sessions and workshops are intentionally kept small, allowing me to nurture each child, build positive relationships, and respond to individual needs.
How do I get started?
The first step is to book a free 10-minute discovery call, where we can talk about your child and explore how we might work together.
